What is Moxifloxacin eye solution? (Back to top)
MOXIFLOXACIN (Vigamox™) is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic. Moxifloxacin kills certain bacteria or stops their growth. Moxifloxacin eye solution treats conjunctivitis caused by these bacteria. Generic moxifloxacin eye solution is not yet available.

What should I tell my health care provider before I take this medicine? (Back to top)
They need to know if you have any of these conditions:
•an unusual reaction to Moxifloxacin or other fluoroquinolone antibiotics, medicines, foods, dyes, or preservatives
•pregnant or trying to get pregnant
•breast-feeding

How should this medicine be used? (Back to top)
Moxifloxacin eye solution is only for use in the eye. Do not take by mouth. Follow the directions on the prescription label. Wash hands before and after each use. Tilt your head back slightly and pull your lower eyelid down with your index finger to form a pouch. Try not to touch the tip of the dropper to your eye, fingertips, or any other surface. Squeeze the prescribed number of drops into the pouch. Close the eye gently to spread the drops. Your vision may blur for a few minutes. Use your doses at regular intervals. Do not use your medicine more often than directed. Finish the full course prescribed by your prescriber or health care professional even if you think your condition is better.

Contact your pediatrician or health care professional regarding the use of this medicine in children. Special care may be needed.

What if I miss a dose? (Back to top)
If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, use only that dose. Do not use double or extra doses.

What drug(s) may interact with Moxifloxacin? (Back to top)
Do not use any other eye products without telling your prescriber or health care professional.

Tell your prescriber or health care professional about all other medicines you are taking, including non-prescription medicines, nutritional supplements, or herbal products. Also tell your prescriber or health care professional if you are a frequent user of drinks with caffeine or alcohol, if you smoke, or if you use illegal drugs. These may affect the way your medicine works. Check with your health care professional before stopping or starting any of your medicines.
